The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District approved a feasibility report on April 10 recommending removal of Junction Falls and Powell Falls dams to restore the Kinnickinnic River's natural flow, reconnect 1.5 miles of channel, improve water quality and trout habitat. The approval advances the ecological restoration project to design and implementation phases.
