Major restoration franchise networks are reporting a significant increase in franchise inquiries from women entrepreneurs, with several systems reporting that women now account for 20 to 30 percent of new inquiries — up from single digits five years ago.
ServiceMaster Restore, Paul Davis Restoration, and Rainbow International all confirmed the trend, attributing it to targeted marketing campaigns, the visibility of women-owned franchise locations, and broader awareness of restoration as a business opportunity.
The franchise model has particular appeal for women entering the industry without prior restoration experience, as it provides brand recognition, training infrastructure, and established insurance carrier relationships that would take years to build independently.
"The franchise model de-risks the business significantly," said a franchise development consultant who works with multiple restoration networks. "For someone who wants to run a business but doesn't have 10 years of restoration experience, it's a very logical entry point."
The average investment to open a restoration franchise ranges from $150,000 to $400,000 depending on the brand and territory size. Most franchise systems offer financing assistance and SBA loan guidance.
Several franchise networks have also developed women-specific mentorship programs that pair new female franchisees with established women owners in the system.
