NASHVILLE — Restoration companies that have adopted GPS fleet management systems are reporting fuel savings of 10 to 15 percent and improved emergency response times, according to industry data compiled by the Restoration Industry Association in early 2026.
GPS fleet management platforms including Verizon Connect, Samsara, and Motive allow restoration companies to track vehicle locations in real time, optimize routing for emergency response, monitor driver behavior, and generate reports on fuel consumption and vehicle utilization.
For restoration contractors, the ability to dispatch the nearest available crew to an emergency call is particularly valuable — reducing response times and improving customer satisfaction in the critical first hours after a water damage or fire event.
Fleet management data also helps restoration companies identify inefficiencies in their operations, such as excessive idling, unauthorized vehicle use, and inefficient routing between job sites. Companies report that addressing these inefficiencies typically pays for the cost of the fleet management system within six to 12 months.
Insurance carriers are increasingly offering premium discounts to restoration companies that use GPS fleet management systems, recognizing that the systems reduce accident rates and improve driver accountability. Several carriers have developed specific programs for the restoration industry.
