Restoration & Remediation Magazine released its annual Women in Restoration feature, spotlighting 10 industry leaders whose work is reshaping how the profession approaches technical training, project management, and client advocacy.
Among those featured is Dr. Lisa Nguyen, a certified industrial hygienist who developed a mold assessment protocol now used by more than 400 restoration contractors across the Southeast. Also highlighted is Maria Castellanos, a large-loss project manager who coordinated the remediation of a 280,000-square-foot commercial building in Houston following Hurricane Harvey — a project that required managing 14 subcontractors and $4.2 million in equipment.
The feature also profiles Keisha Williams, founder of Atlanta-based Renew Restoration, who built her company from a single van operation in 2018 to a 22-employee firm with $3.8 million in annual revenue. Williams credits the IICRC's AMRT certification as the credential that opened doors to commercial contracts.
"These women aren't anomalies," said R&R Editor Michelle Blevins. "They're the leading edge of a generational shift that's already underway in this industry."
