Severe storms on April 17 produced at least six confirmed tornadoes including EF-1s near Roscoe, Harrison and others in Illinois, alongside 60-70 mph winds, large hail over 2 inches and repeated heavy rain causing river rises on the Rock, Fox and Des Plaines rivers. The event capped an active severe weather stretch from April 13 that included multiple high-risk outlooks from the Storm Prediction Center.
